Despite the heavy rain, the whose who of Sydney came out in force to the launch of Versace’s new fragrance for men, Dylan Blue, on Tuesday 2 August 2016 at Riley Street Garage.
The Italian brand unveiled the fragrance with a new short film shot by Bruce Weber and starring Versace’s new muse Gigi Hadid. The video also stars Trevor Signorino, Alan Jouban, and a range of fighters including Nic Thompson, Adam con Rothfelder and more. The sultry black and white video shows off the typical Versace aesthetic — think, brawny and manly.
Men dressed in black leather walked around carrying trays of Versace Dylan Blue and cards for guests to try the fragrance.
Specials guests for the night included: Channel Seven Morning Show stylist Donny Galella; former Miss Australia Erin Holland; The Bachelor’s Tim Robard; Australian Rules footballer Tom Derickx; Australian tenor Stephen Mahy; and celebrity make-up artist Michael Brown.
Canapes for the eventing included: smokey soy truffle oysters; sashimi fish ‘n chip tartare; seared beef, soy vinegar, shitake and squid ink mayo; chorizo corn dog and dijon mayo; crispy fried squid; pumpkin ricotta ravioli, burnt butter, pecorino; crispy pork belly, soy mustard, pickled apple; and liquid lemon cheesecake
Drinks for the eventing included: Café Patron espresso martini; Diablo Cocktail (consisting of Patron Tequila, Chambord, Ginger Beer with lime); Piper-Heidsieck Brut Champagne; Robert Oatley Shiraz and Robert Oatley Chardonnay.
At the end of the night, each guest went home with a bottle of the fragrance.
